Dr. Lindsay Stark, associate dean for Global Strategy and Programs, Dr. Ilana Seff, research assistant professor, and Dr. Byron Powell, associate professor, at the Brown Schoool, received a $666,125 grant from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to study a humanitarian program implementation for adolescent girls in Colombia who were recently forcibly displaced from Venezuela. They will be adapting and evaluating an innovative whole-family and gender transformative intervention—Sibling Support for Adolescent Girls in Emergencies (SSAGE)—to prevent mental health disorders among this population. Partners in this collaboration include Universidad de los Andes, Mercy Corps, and the Women’s Refugee Commission.
